Inline skating sports since I was a child. Meeting Coach Yang at high school inspired me to start XC ski, and biathlon. Shooting is my favorite sport. It gave me absolute confidence with a good shooting result at the youth biathlon 2023. In addition to being an active athlete with both categories, also a junior in the Department of Sports and Leisure Management at Fu Jen Catholic University. My goal is to participate major competitions and hope for the Olympics eventually. In the future, I would like to contribute my knowledge of experience to developing more athletes in Taiwan who enter the sport.
Ryan Liu
An active athlete in cross-country skiing and biathlon, he has been involved in biathlon for more than two years, participating in the IBU Junior Cup in Slovenia and the IBU Youth World Championships in Kazakhstan. He said, “I love biathlon, and no doubt, it’s because of the shooting and hitting the target. That feeling is truly irresistible to me.” He is also a dedicated cyclist, having ridden for nearly six years and achieved satisfying results in various competitions across Taiwan while continuing his biathlon training. In addition to these two sports, his interests extend to badminton, table tennis, football, basketball, and triathlon. His motivation is to become a successful athlete, with his ultimate goal being to stand on the Olympic stage.

As a biathlete, I was first a cross-country roller skiing athlete before transitioning to biathlon, and I’ve competed in Japan and South Korea. While shooting in biathlon is still new to me, I love it because it requires not only speed but also precision and power. The need to quickly adjust my breathing after intense skiing, just as I reach the shooting range, is incredible—this is the aspect of the sport I admire the most. In addition to biathlon, I’m also an active cyclist, having joined a team in junior high school. Over the past four years, I’ve regularly competed in various events to sharpen my mental toughness. Lastly, I look forward to competing in world events and continuing to grow as an athlete.

My name is Sam Huang , and I am currently in seventh grade of junior high school. I have been exposed to this sport since my father’s recommendation in the fifth grade of elementary school. Since I have no foundation in in-line skating, the learning process was more difficult for me than the average person. Although I spend more time studying than others, I also hope to get more rewards and move towards the goal of participating in more competitions in the future.
